With immense grief, the Ministry of Health would like to update the Nation on two more deaths from COVID-19. An infant (1 month 22 days old baby boy) infected with COVID-19 succumbed to cardiac complications in Phuentsholing hospital during the early hours this morning. The deceased suffered from respiratory distress and was referred to Phuentsholing hospital from Panbari Primary Health Center. A 62 year old female with breast cancer and other underlying medical conditions expired at the Royal Institute of Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS) Isolation Facility in Phuentsholing today. The lady who was referred from Samtse Hospital was being managed for an active COVID-19 infection at the RIGSS Isolation Facility.From a total of 20,116 confirmed COVID-19 cases since 5th March 2020, these are the 8th and 9th deaths in the country. The Ministry of Health would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
