Vaccination Coverage:The Ministry of Health would like to thank each and everyone for their continued support and solidarity for the COVID-19 vaccination program. As of 17 November 2021, Bhutanโ€™s fully vaccinated coverage stands as follows:โ–  Overall population fully vaccinated: 76.8%โ–  Adults (18 years and above) fully vaccinated: 93.2%โ–  Children 12-17 years fully vaccinated: 92.8% Moving forward:โ— Upon the recommendation of the Government, the Ministry of Health is exploring the vaccination for children 5-11 years, total estimated (83,227 children) with the Pfizer pediatric vaccines. The Pfizer vaccine (Pediatric dose) has been recently approved for the use in children 5-11 years by the USA, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and as of now, only two countries (USA and Israel) have rolled out the vaccination for the children of the aforementioned age bracket. However, the Pfizer pediatric vaccine is still awaiting Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the World Health Organization (WHO).โ— Currently, we have 211,290 doses of mRNA vaccines in the country. The Ministry of Health is planning to provide COVID-19 vaccine booster doses to priority groups including people residing in the high risk areas.
